If you're an Indy car racing fan, get ready for the ultimate racing thrill with the upcoming Indy Racing League from Codemasters. Due to be released in Spring 2003, Indy Racing League will be available for PC and the following next-gen consoles:
On all three platforms, players will experience the thrill of racing within the entire Indy 2002 racing league, include its most famous race: The Indianapolis 500.
As you race around officially licensed tracks, including the Indianapolis Speedway, Pikes Peak International and 11 others, you'll go head to head with a fully fleshed out AI representing the drivers from officially licensed IRL teams. Expect to go head-to-head with the Penzoil Panther team and drivers such as the 2001 IRL champ, Sam Hornish, Jr.
To boost the realism of Indy Racing League, the developers are putting in place a TV style presentation system along with full driving tutorials to assist new Indy car racers as they learn the ropes.
Codemasters' Indy Racing League looks to be a breakout racing hit for the new year with its great graphics, advanced AI, and full complement of licensed teams and tracks. Keep an eye out for a more in-depth preview in the coming months. While multiplayer/online functionality has not been announced, we can only hope Codemasters sees fit to add it on all platforms to bring gamers the ultimate online racing experience.
