With one month to go before E3 opens its tradeshow doors, information leaks and rumors are starting to hit their stride. The latest involves a report that Microsoft is going to announce a $99 bundle of a 4GB Xbox 360 and Kinect sensor -- if the purchaser agrees to a $15/month subscription fee for online services. According to the report, the $99 Kinect bundle may go on sale at Microsoft stores as early as the week of May 7. If the report proves true, Microsoft would be going in the same direction as mobile-phone carriers, who heavily …

Team Ninja has announced two new assassins to the fighting roster for Dead or Alive 5, which is set to release in September for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The new characters aren't really "new," as both Christie and Bayman are making a return to the Dead or Alive series in DOA5. Both characters have been completely redesigned in their appearance, and their unique play styles have been honed as well. Christie, a British female assassin, is a cold-blooded, merciless woman. She possesses the perfect qualities for an assassin with Shequan (Snake …

Square Enix logo

Hitman: Absolution is one of the games I'm most looking forward to in 2012, with gameplay that rekindles the franchise's old-school stealth challenge while also offering run-and-gun options that promise an increased challenge. Now, Square Enix has taken the wraps off a new character and voice actors for the game. Square Enix and IO Interactive revealed the new character of Benjamin Travis. The new ICA handler will be voiced by Powers Boothe, known for his roles in "Sin City" and "24." That is all. We'll have more info as E3 nears one …

Asura’s Wrath Review

May 1, 2012 By Jonas Allen Leave a Comment
Asura's Wrath

Graphic novels and videogames seem to go hand in hand these days, with fans of either medium generally being connoisseurs of the other. Many action/adventure games and RPGs have ventured into comic-style presentations, but few have really nailed anime. Until now. Asura’s Wrath presents an incredible anime style and an appropriately wonky hero’s plot, giving you the feeling of playing an anime episode like no other game before it. But maybe there’s a reason behind anime’s non-interactive history, because as spot-on as Asura’s Wrath may …

Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure Review

April 22, 2012 By Jonas Allen Leave a Comment
Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure

Disney has embraced the Xbox 360 Kinect hardware like few other third parties, and the connection makes total sense. Since its founding, the company has been focused on the “experiences” it creates, and the Kinect hardware offers nothing if not an immersive gameplay experience. Disney’s first outing, Kinect Disneyland Adventures, did an outstanding job re-creating the in-Park experience, with only a few minor miscues along the way. Its most-recent game, Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure, focuses not on a Park experience but around the …
