Steam Hacked; Credit Card Info Appears to be Safe

Sony weathered a vicious PSN hack earlier this year that caused an interruption in PlayStation Network service and the release of users' sensitive information. It looks like someone also has an issue with Valve and its Steam service, as Valve chief Gabe Newell has proactively distributed a letter indicating that Steam has been hacked as well. Modern Warfare 3 Nabs ‘Biggest Entertainment Launch,’ Gets $400 Million in 24 Hours

The money machine that is Call of Duty continued its march on the record books, as Activision today announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 earned more than $400 million in its first 24 hours of worldwide release, making it the "biggest entertainment launch ever." Retails moved more than 6.5 million copies of the game in North America and the United Kingdom alone during that one-day period. Tropico 4 “Junta” DLC to Hit Xbox 360, PC on Nov. 9

Tropico 4 will soon expand the island nation of El Presidente, as a new DLC pack called "The Junta" will release for both the Xbox 360 and Windows PC next week. The Tropico 4 Junta DLC will be available on Xbox 360 on Nov. 9 for 400 Microsoft Points, and on Windows PC on Nov. 11 for $4.99. Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand DLC Expansion Pack Coming in December

Battlefield 3 may have just released this week, but already EA and DICE are discussing the first round of Battlefield 3 DLC. Called the Back to Karkand Expansion Pack, the BF3 add-on content will hit in December. Back to Karkand features remastered versions of four of the greatest Battlefield maps of all time: Strike at Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman and Sharqi Peninsula. DC Universe Online Free-To-Play Launches Nov. 1

DC Universe Online (DCUO), Sony's superhero MMO, is getting a free-to-play version on November 1, providing a new option for MMO fans who don't want to pay a monthly subscription for their superhero action. DCUO free-to-play has almost all the same functionality as the full-priced version, a welcome surprise considering the traditional revenue model for the MMO genre.
