Sacred 2 is a sequel long in the making. When the original game released on PC in 2004, the action RPG earned critical accolades and a cult-like following, so a sequel was bound to come down the pipe. But the sequel that CDV is publishing for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year isn't just more of the same; it's more of, well, everything. The online multiplayer is intact, as is the hack-and-slash gameplay, but the graphics, audio and quest list have gotten bigger, badder and bolder than ever.
Although categorized as an action RPG, Sacred 2 …

Tales of Vesperia Preview (Xbox 360)
As you may have gathered from our article about importing video games, we like foreign goods. So, while scouring (yet again) the Japanese version of Xbox Live Marketplace, we found a demo for Namco's latest installment of the "Tales" franchise, which will soon appear for the first time on Xbox 360. Tales of Vesperia is an Xbox 360 exclusive, so what do Xbox 360 owners have to look forward to? If you played Eternal Sonata, you have a pretty good idea. And since the demo we played was in English, you shouldn't have to wonder much longer, as Tales …

WALL*E The Video Game Hands-On Preview (Xbox 360)
Here we are in early June, and the first batch of summer blockbuster films are already upon us. Yet of the remaining blockbusters of the 2008 summer season, few have the same level of anticipation as WALL*E, the next animated film from Disney and Pixar. Like most Pixar films, WALL*E is bound to hit an emotional chord with adults and kids alike, even though it uses no real dialogue or words (it relies mostly on beeps and synthesized "ooohs" and "ahhhs" instead). Yet for the requisite video game tie-in, Disney and THQ are aiming rather clearly …

Don King Presents Prizefighter: Interview with Don King
Don King is "normal" in name alone. The boxing promoter is one of the most confident, sensational and quote-worthy men in the history of the sport. Perhaps best known for his work with Mike Tyson, Don King remains very much in the game with today's hottest boxers, but this week will quite literally be "in the game" for the first time, as 2K Sports releases Don King Presents Prizefighter for Xbox 360.
Ever the promoter, Don King carved some time from his busy schedule to answer our questions about his first foray into gaming and explain why he …

Developer Interview: Fracture for PS3, Xbox 360
For all the attention THQ and the Red Faction Guerilla team have (rightfully) received for their environmental destruction, LucasArts has been working on its own deformation-friendly action game called Fracture. Designed to let players deform the world by using weapons that do things such as create holes and raise the ground, Fracture is set to hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 this October. We thought you might appreciate hearing from the development team directly about how Fracture is progressing for both PS3 and Xbox 360, and perhaps hearing a bit …

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.: Storyline and Fictional History
Ubisoft today released two new in-game screenshots for H.A.W.X., its aerial combat game set in the near future, but buried among the screens was an impressively detailed document highlighting the incredible Tom Clancy-esque backstory of the game, as well as the storyline that the game will follow when it releases on PS3 and Xbox 360. For your reading pleasure, we have included the entire document below, complemented by the two in-game H.A.W.X. screenshots. Enjoy.

The Bourne Conspiracy Preview: Hands-On
It's safe to say most consumers' first, if not only, exposure to Jason Bourne was the series of Bourne films starring Matt Damon. Sure, Robert Ludlum may have written a few novels, but Hollywood reigns supreme when it comes to mass-media action, and, well, Matt Damon's version of Jason Bourne is 100 percent action. With that in mind, it's a bit disconcerting to fire up The Bourne Conspiracy for the first time on the good ol' next-gen console, because Jason Bourne is (gasp) not Matt Damon. However, that doesn't mean Jason Bourne as he appears in …

Baja Preview
Codemasters' DiRT, previously known as the Colin McRae Rally racing franchise, has had somewhat of a stranglehold on the rally-racing scene for the past half decade. Other publishers and franchises have given it a go, from Microsoft and Rallisport Challenge to Sony and Motorstorm to Sega and Rally Revo, but nobody's succeeded in toppling Codemasters' game. Even the fabled Gran Turismo has included off-road racing, but that series hasn't exactly wowed rally fans and is still known more for its tuner aspects than anything else. But as THQ …

Darksiders: Wrath of War Preview (PS3, Xbox 360)
The most successful action games of late have featured characters and/or times of historical significance. Kratos (God of War) relied heavily on Greek mythology, for instance, while Altair (Assassin's Creed) jumped his way through the Third Crusade. But no characters or period is quite as universally recognized as the four horsemen and the apocalypse, which will provide not only the basis of THQ's action game Darksiders: Wrath of War, but some fantastic story fodder from which the developers can draw.
Darksiders: Wrath of War takes players …
