May 3, 2012 By Jonas Allen Leave a Comment

Team Ninja has announced two new assassins to the fighting roster for Dead or Alive 5, which is set to release in September for the Xbox 360 and PS3. The new characters aren't really "new," as both Christie and Bayman are making a return to the Dead or Alive series in DOA5. Both characters have been completely redesigned in their appearance, and their unique play styles have been honed as well. Christie, a British female assassin, is a cold-blooded, merciless woman. She possesses the perfect qualities for an assassin with Shequan (Snake …

Hitman: Absolution Gets New Character and Voice Actor

May 3, 2012 By Jonas Allen Leave a Comment

Hitman: Absolution is one of the games I'm most looking forward to in 2012, with gameplay that rekindles the franchise's old-school stealth challenge while also offering run-and-gun options that promise an increased challenge. Now, Square Enix has taken the wraps off a new character and voice actors for the game. Square Enix and IO Interactive revealed the new character of Benjamin Travis. The new ICA handler will be voiced by Powers Boothe, known for his roles in "Sin City" and "24." That is all. We'll have more info as E3 nears one …

Asura’s Wrath Review

May 1, 2012 By Jonas Allen Leave a Comment
Asura's Wrath

Graphic novels and videogames seem to go hand in hand these days, with fans of either medium generally being connoisseurs of the other. Many action/adventure games and RPGs have ventured into comic-style presentations, but few have really nailed anime. Until now. Asura’s Wrath presents an incredible anime style and an appropriately wonky hero’s plot, giving you the feeling of playing an anime episode like no other game before it. But maybe there’s a reason behind anime’s non-interactive history, because as spot-on as Asura’s Wrath may …

Prepare to shapeshift your way through an infected world, boys and girls; Prototype 2 has shipped today for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. In the sequel, players will switch into the shapeshifting boots of the antagonist from the first game as they experience what Activision bills as the "epic showdown between Sgt. Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Review

April 21, 2012 By Jonas Allen 1 Comment
Resident Evil Raccoon City

The Resident Evil franchise has been around for what seems like an eternity, both because its horror genre is a gameplay stalwart and because, well, it’s been around for 15 years. Like many franchises it’s evolved out of necessity, with an increased emphasis on action rather than relying strictly on “jump out of the dark to scare you” thrills. The latest entry, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, takes the action emphasis farther than the series has previously gone, and it frankly suffers because of it. Worse yet, by relying so …

April 2, 2012 By Sara Leave a Comment
LittleBigPlanet thumbnail

Sackboy's coming back to the PS3 sooner than expected, and in a form nobody this side of Mario and Bowser could've predicted: in a PS3-exclusive kart-racing game. Called LittleBigPlanet Karting, the PS3 racer will ship later this year to give players a chance to create their own kart-racing environments and then compete on them. This is the only racing game you'll find that has Sackboy written all over it. It's also shaping up to be one of the deepest track-creation titles this side of ModNation Racers.
