Sony's answer to Mario-like gameplay, the Hot Shots series is synonymous with accessible gameplay, cute cartoony characters and over-the-top power moves. Players familiar with the series' hallmark Hot Shots Golf will notice immediately that the characters in this newest chapter have swapped-out clubs for tennis rackets, but fans can be assured that the same arcade gameplay can be found in this outing. This is definitely no Virtua Tennis 3. Where Sega amazed and frustrated players with realistic physics and amazing textures, Sony takes the …

Shrek The Third
Shrek's back for another game piggybacking his latest theatrical adventure, whether you want him to be or not. The big, smelly green ogre even brings along all of his friends in playable form. What he failed to remember is any sense of enjoyment or utilization of Microsoft's Xbox 360 platform's strengths, not surprising given the game's dubious film-inspired roots.
Shrek The Third is first and foremost a simple, linear adventure game targeted at younger audiences. The humor, provide by Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and other Shrek voice alumnus, is …

Spider-Man 3
Activision's Spider-Man 2 revolutionized often miserably executed video games based on movies with an open sandbox design once thought sacred to more lavish properties taking years to develop. A leap onto next generation consoles with Spider-Man 3 offered another chance for Spidey to spin an equally, if not more impressive web of gaming intrigue. Instead, the game imitates the critically panned film and crash lands hard in a step backwards for the series.
Spider-Man 2 excelled by nearly mastering the graceful art of swinging about New York City …

God of War II
Reviewing God of War II is a formality, akin to meeting your significant other's family before getting married. Not matter what they say, you'll still walk down that isle. So go ahead -- walk down that store isle and pick up a copy of God of War II. There's absolutely no doubt that this sequel offers gameplay that matches or very well exceeds the original in terms of quality. It shouldn't be surprising then that God of War II is one of the finest games to not just grace PlayStation 2, but any system in past year.
Kratos' continued epic sees him …

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories
Writing about Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories on PlayStation 2 would have been a lot easier two days ago. Trying to talk about what makes this port worthwhile is pretty difficult with the guise of Grand Theft Auto IV on the horizon, taunting with its superb visuals and promise of new gameplay. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories simply can't hold up to those standards, being little more than an underwhelming port. Saved only by its budget price, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories is a decent game worth tiding the time until the big one …

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi Review
There are three things in life that we can count on: death, taxes and a new Dragon Ball Z game every few months. While most of us would prefer death, or worse yet a tax audit, to playing a Dragon Ball Z game, there is a huge fan base out there who just can't wait to get there hands on the "next" DBZ game. After doing a little research, I was amazed to discover that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 marks the 25th DBZ game developed in Japan in the last four years! Is it a case of quantity over quality? The answer may depend on whom you …

God Hand
The last of Clover Studios' games to release, God Hand is quite simply the best beat 'em up I've played in a long time, second only to Streets of Rage on the Sega Genesis. One of the larger gaming Web sites completely missed the point of the game and gave it a 3 of 10. So, DailyGame readers, I'm here to tell you whether it's really worth that score -- and your money.
If you grew up wanting more of the Final Fights and the Double Dragons, I'm pleased to announce your game is finally here. This doesn't mean God Hand is for everyone, because you …

Okami
A certain portly movie critic made the comment that video games are not worthy to be considered as art. More then just a few of us got a wee bit ticked at the statement as it was made with almost no thought or research of video games in general. It's a pity as he misses one the great Playstation2 games of this year.
Okami is one of the last two titles released by Clover Studios (Viewtiful Joe series) following the folding of the studio by Capcom. Originally intended with realistic graphics this was shelved in place of Cel Shading and we are …

Guitar Hero II
Is there a game that you really can't wait to get a hold of? I'm not talking about the hype that surrounds Madden every year and the stories of people who skip school and work to play. That has evolved into a media-driven sideshow and, bottom line, it's the same thing every year: a football game. I'm talking about the game that gets your adrenaline pumping just thinking about it. Well, as an old Gen-Xer, that usually doesn't happen for me. But, ever since I nailed a 5-star performance on "Symphony of Destruction" on Guitar Hero, I've been …

ATV Offroad Fury 4
Sony released the first game in the ATV series shortly after the PS2 launch. Since then, the series' focus on racing off the pavement has gone relatively unchallenged by other publishers, and as a result the franchise has built a solid fan base. And, as expected, the latest entry, ATV Offroad Fury 4, lives up to its predecessors by another providing a fun and enjoyable gaming experience.
Now in its fourth iteration, ATV offers for the first time a story mode to add some depth to the single-player experience. The story is fairly simple and …
