Why are there no threads on left 4 dead here?  Am I simply over looking them or what?

L4D is a pretty cool game.  But I dont think its everything that its hyped up to be.

The price is still $49 on Steam.  Wait until it goes on sale.  I dont think its worth the full price.  There is supposed to be a big update released at the end of April.  So if you thinking of buying the game, maybe wait until May or June.

My wife and I have been loving it on the 360 for a few months now.  After you "beat" the game it's a great jump into experience to play online.  I really don't like online games, but I like that one.

One of the cool things about l4d is how well strangers can work together - most of the time anyway.

There have been a couple of games where people would join, and then start team shooting.  One guy blasted me a couple of times, then said - "oops sorry about that".  Then a few seconds later blasted me again.  When I started shooting back he stopped.

We played through the map, let the other team have their turn.  And when we spawned back in the safe room to start the next level (it was mercy hospital level) - I grabbed the auto shotgun and went into counter-strike (and quakeworld deathmatch) mode.  I started circle strafing around the guy blasting him in the head with the auto shotgun, and he was down within seconds.  Since I was circle strafing him, he did not hit me a single time.  I ducked behind a wall, reloaded, jumped back out, ran around his body blasting him the whole time.  After doing this a couple of time he finally died.  The team then vote kicked the poor guy.  Next time, do not pick on someone that has been playing deathmatch for over 10 years.

Besides the occasional team killer wannabes, most of the time people work well together.

I think most of us playing it have been playing on X360. Bojak and I have a small group we play with, though it's slacked off lately (we just moved to Halo Wars)

Heck yea.  Playing team based games for so long - team fortress and counter-strike - you try not to shoot your team mates.  But it seems that l4d has bought a new breed of player into the scene - the tk or pk - team killer or player killer.  I have not seen this much team killing since diablo 1 and battlenet.

Is it all intentional, or accidental? I know Left 4 Dead can get a bit frantic at times....

Team Killing is stupid in this game, because the AI director punishes you for it. But, that said, I haven't EVER been TK'd in a single game on X360 or PC.

Last weekend we had a couple over that brought their 360 and a TV with them.  We linked Left 4 Dead and had a blast playing it all night.
