7 Little Words for Kids Receives Prestigious Award

March 20, 2013 By Jonas Allen Leave a Comment

Caribou, Maine – Newly-released mobile puzzle app, 7 Little Words for Kids has received the prestigious Editor’s Choice Award from Children’s Technology Review, according to Blue Ox Technologies, the Caribou, Maine-based developer of the game.

Following the breakout success of its “parent” mobile app 7 Little Words, the new iOS game has been among the top 5 paid educational games in the U.S. app store since its release in early March and has had similar success in other major, English-speaking markets. Both games blend the best elements of crosswords, word finds, and anagram games into mini puzzles perfect for short bursts of fun.

“In addition to the kids we designed the game for, 7 Little Words for Kids has gotten a warm reception from parents, teachers and critics,” says Christopher York, president of Blue Ox and creator of 7 Little Words, “It is gratifying to be recognized also by such an impartial, important guide to excellence in children’s technology.”

In bestowing the award, Children’s Technology Review’s Editor and Founder, Warren Buckleitner, called 7 Little Words for Kids “an excellent language enrichment activity” and thus judged it to be one of “the highest quality children’s products in the interactive media category.”

Designed to give elementary school children word puzzle fun in a colorful and safe environment, 7 Little Words for Kids features 350 words and clues that are randomly generated for virtually infinite playability. Solving the puzzles earns stars that players use to unlock each of 7 worlds. 7 Little Words for Kids is also kid-safe, containing no advertising or opportunities for in-app purchase.
