D&A releases Snaplay – The First Image Search Media Player for iPhone

London, United Kingdom – D&A has built Snaplay with a clear focus on the emotional experience of enjoying artwork, film and music, and so provide a simple link between the real world images that interest people – and the most appropriate related online content.

Snaplay is the first reverse image search media player app for iPhone. It instantly links posters, advertisements or photos to related online music and video using reverse image search and a proprietary filtering algorithm. It couldn’t be easier – snap a movie poster with your phone and instantly watch the trailer on YouTube; snap a vinyl record cover or flyposter and instantly hear the album on Spotify or watch past gigs by the artist.

Key Features:
* Beautifully simple, intuitive interface
* Snap images live from iPhone camera, or submit from past snaps or images saved to your camera roll
* Works with a range of published images – old and new, without the need for ugly QR codes
* Full YouTube, Spotify, and local music integration
* Play instantly or save Snaps while on the move and play media later
* Share your Snaps and Plays on Facebook, Twitter, or by email

“Up till now, reverse image search hasn’t been used to it’s full potential. We were frustrated by services that simply offer a dump of all associated search results. They often require heavy manual sifting to find anything useful. Also, ugly QR codes require publishers to stick a glorified barcode on their carefully crafted artwork. We felt that there’s something inherently absurd about the way these technologies are being used and decided to build Snaplay,” said Joe Randall-Cutler, Device & Application.

Device Requirements:
* iPhone 3GS, 4, 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3/4/5 gen)
* Requires iOS 4.3 or later
* Requires Spotify App
* 2.5 MB
