Mercenaries 2 Ships on Sunday (Aug. 31)

Skipping the whole "games must ship on Tuesdays" shtick, EA and Pandemic will release the open-world, blow-it-all-to-Kingdom-Come action game Mercenaries 2 on Sunday (August 31). It will ship in Europe on Sept. 5.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is takes place in a fully destructible Venezuela. As in the first Mercenaries game, if you see it, you can buy it, steal it or blow it up. Unlike the first game, though, Mercs 2 also features a seamless cooperative multiplayer mode that allows friends to play the entire campaign together online via Xbox Live or PlayStation Network.

Mercenaries 2 will also ship for PS2 on Sunday. The PC version will hit Sept. 4, the day before all four versions ship in Europe.
