Today, Microsoft hit DHL with news that the shipper never wanted to hear: we're suing you for more than $2 million.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Seattle, claims that DHL has refused to pay for the damage done to 26,600 Xbox 360 consoles, which Microsoft says were valued at more than $2 million.
According to the suit, Microsoft says that 12 containers of games were damaged by "impact damage, wetting, pilferage and shortage allegedly as a result of train derailment."
DHL has not yet issued a formal response to the suit.
According to Microsoft, that has been par for the course with DHL for the past few months:
"At no time has [Microsoft] been compensated for its damages ... by [DHL], despite demands made therefore. Defendant has refused and continues to refuse to pay plaintiff's damages."
In DailyGame's experience, DHL is an incredibly responsible and responsive shipper. Well, our guy James is, anyway. Good thing he's not involved in this one.
