Far Cry 2 Fires into Retail for PS3, Xbox 360, PC

Far Cry 2, one of the better shooters on display at E3 for both the PS3 and Xbox 360, has shipped today for both current-gen consoles. Far Cry 2 has also shipped for PC.

Far Cry 2 is an open-world shooter, like the original, and uses a new game engine that supports non-scripted enemy AI, destructible environments, dynamic fire and storm effects. The open-world environment is more than 50 square kilometers in size.

In Far Cry 2, players are immersed in a war-torn African state in which they must make deals with corrupt warlords on both sides of the conflict to move closer to their primary objective of defeating "the Jackal." There's also a multiplayer component, of course, available via Xbox Live or PlayStation Network.
