Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe Goes Gold for PS3, Xbox 360

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe has gone gold today, Midway announced, putting the fighting game on track to ship for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Nov. 16 (Nov. 21 in Europe).

Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe is the first game in the Mortal Kombat franchise that includes characters from outside the Mortal Kombat universe. Obviously, the newbies are characters from the DC Universe, including Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman on the hero side, and Cat Woman, Lex Luthor and The Joker on the villain side.

Of course, all the traditional Mortal Kombat "heroes" and villains will also appear in the game, from Sub Zero and Raiden to Liu Kang and Shao Kahn.

Amazingly, the game includes a plot in addition to its normal fighting gameplay. The story follows the events that transpired to bring the Mortal Kombat and DC Universe characters together.
