Wheelman for PS3, Xbox 360 Gets Official Release Date

Wheelman, Midway's upcoming open-world driving game, got an official PS3 and Xbox 360 release date today: February 20, 2009. Wheelman stars film star Vin Diesel, whose most recent video game appearance came in the Chronicles of Riddick games.

In Wheelman, Diesel plays an expert driver for hire in Barcelona who also happens to know his way around combat. Case in point: Wheelman includes a new gameplay feature called "Vehicle Melee." Sounds like bumper cars to us....

In actuality, Vehicle Melee allows gamers to sideswipe pursuing enemies with a simple flick of the joystick. These "slam-n-ram" maneuvers can be carried out in all directions, just like a Hollywood-style car chase.
