Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Gets Release Date

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, the first GTA game for Nintendo's portable platform and the swept-under-the-rug game announcement at E3 2008, finally has a release date: March 17 and 20, 2009. The dates are for North America and Europe, respectively.

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is a completely new entry in the GTA series. Developed by Rockstar Leeds in conjunction with Rockstar North, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will feature a completely rebuilt Liberty City, but Rockstar assures us that yes, it will maintain the series' open-world feel.

Additional game data -- things like plot, characters and gameplay features -- are still under wraps, but we presume Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will include multiplayer support via Nintendo WiFi connection. That's just conjecture, but considering Rockstar's push to not compromise the series' integrity, we think the chances are good of multiplayer features becoming reality.
