Metal Gear Online: Race Mission and "Patriot" -- First PS3 Details

Metal Gear Online is one of the PS3's standout exclusive titles, and it recently received some exclusive new content in the form of the SCENE Expansion pack. However, before PS3 owners start thinking that's all Konami has up its Metal Gear Online sleeve, they should read this little bit of info: on May 12, every Metal Gear Online owner will have access to a new game mode called Race Mission.

In the Metal Gear Online Race Mission, a Blue Team will be in charge of looking for and protecting the KEROTAN target while the Red Team looks for and protects a GA-KO target. Each time a team has its target and passes a certain checkpoint, a new checkpoint will be generated in this race-like mode. If a team drops its target or fails to reach it in a certain amount of time, the target's position and the next checkpoint will change.

Starting May 26, another new bit of content will surface for Metal Gear Online: a new Patriot feature. This new content will give a handful of randomly chosen players access to a 5.56mm Hand Rifle with infinite ammunition and no reload. New players will be chosen every week. Players will have access to the Patriot features until the next batch of players is chosen.
