A new movie that will likely follow in the footsteps of An Inconvenient Truth is on its way courtesy of Twentieth Century Fox, and it's going to do several things never done before. Called "Home," the film will be released simultaneously in every format (movie theaters, TV, Web, DVD and Blu-ray) on the same day in more than 50 countries. In addition, Home will be the first movie to have all of its photography shot from the air.
Here's the premise of Home: in 200,000 years on Earth, humanity has upset the balance of nature that was established by nearly four billion years of evolution. Humans now have about 10 years to reverse the trend, become aware of the full extent of our planet's riches and change our consumption patterns.
Diirected by renowned French photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand and narrated by Glenn Close, Home aims to change the way people see the planet and their impact on it. The film, which was shot in high definition in 54 countries and 120 locations during the course of 217 days, will discuss our planet's wonders as well as its wounds. It will not, however, necessarily provide the answers. That's left up to viewers.
