Crysis 2 Unveiled for PS3, Xbox 360, PC

Crysis pushed PCs to their technical limits when it first released, a graphical joy for people whose PCs could actually run it, and a semi-frustrating experience for those whose PCs choked and died. With Crysis 2, gamers won't necessarily have that same frustration, as EA today announced Crysis 2 is coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well -- which obviously assures the game will run smoothly.

Crysis 2 is the product of a contract extension with Crytek GmbH, the developers of the Cry engine and the only studio in the world that insists on its game titles including reference to its engine (Far Cry, Crysis ...).

Although details are scant at this point, we do know that all three versions of Crysis 2 -- PS3, Xbox 360 and PC -- are being built on Crytek's new multiplatform engine CryENGINE 3. It will be the first game Crytek has built for a console (the Far Cry adaptations and Far Cry 2 were done by Ubisoft partner studios, not EA).
