Baboon! for PS VITA Coming this Fall

BILBAO, Spain, July 17, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Relevo Videogames® today announced the imminent availability of Baboon! for the PlayStation®Vita console. Baboon! is the latest addition to the PS Vita game portfolio from indie game developer Relevo, it will be available this fall from the PlayStation®Store at a retail price of €9,95. Created by independent game studio Relevo Videogames, Baboon! is set to become an instant classic. Relevo specializes in retro games and in true arcade style Baboon! combines a mix of game genres including the highly addictive platform game style popularized in the 80′s, with a classic adventure saga, complete with interactive quests and challenging jumping puzzles. Players can explore exotic new worlds filled with pirate monkey’s evil henchmen, flying penguins and endless action-packed adventures. Each stage builds new challenges that require both gamer dexterity and physics to keep players wanting more.

Baboon’s original soundtrack was directed by acclaimed Japanese music composer Hideyuki Fukasawa, who has worked on scores from top-selling videogame franchises including Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Chaos Legion and Mobile Suit Gundam. Music composition and arrangement was completed in collaboration with Yugenstudio by Giuseppe Strano, Taichi Toyoda and Koichi Simizu.

In the game, our hero Tumbili, which means monkey in Swahili, must save his island from certain doom by thwarting the evil Pirate Baboon’s plan. Players can interact with dozens of characters, pick up items and trade objects in a quest to seek out and fight mighty final bosses. Along the way, encounter archenemies, make new friends and take part in an amazing story while solving multiple challenges and side quests to save the day.

“Baboon!” was nominated for Best Graphics, Most Original Game, Best Playability, and Best Basque Game at the hóPlay International Indie videogame contest. Relevo, specializes in classic retro games including 8-bit, ZX Spectrum and MSX game productions, this will be Relevo’s first release for Sony.
