Dead or Alive 5 Now Available for Xbox 360, PS3

September 26, 2012 By Jonas Allen 1 Comment

Koei Tecmo logoTeam Ninja has released its latest chapter in the storied Dead or Alive franchise, as Dead or Alive 5 is now available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. There’s also a GameStop-exclusive Dead or Alive 5 Collector’s Edition for both consoles, if you’re so inclined.

Dead or Alive 5 incorporates a wealth of martial arts fighting techniques into its distinctive fighting style to create a captivating new generation of DEAD OR ALIVE combat. Players will once again take on the roles of the legendary cast of DOA fighters in an action-packed brawler set in visually striking locations from around the world. The famed Dead or Alive hand-to-hand combat unfolds in new and expansive 3D stages that dynamically change as the fight progresses.

Dead or Alive 5 also includes a wealth of new online features that offer players the best online experience of any DOA game so far. Combatants can set up and engage in online bracket-style tournaments that include up to 16 players, while the fighter list allows players to view opponents’ battle records and call them out to fight at any time. The online dojo allows players to practice and train with others, while the spectator feature lets players chat while watching online battles. Players can also rock bragging rights by posting titles and sharing fighting records with friends on Facebook.

That all-star roster includes returning DOA favorites: Ayane, Bass Armstrong, Bayman, Brad Wong, Christie, Eliot, Gen Fu, Hayate, Helena Douglas, Hitomi, Jann Lee, Kasumi, Kokoro, La Mariposa, Leifang, Ryu Hayabusa, Tina Armstrong and Zack. Also in the lineup are two new contenders: Mila and Rig. Plus, a trio of guest characters from SEGA’s Virtua Fighter – Akira Yuki, Pai Chan and Sarah Bryant! Each of these new and returning fighters represent the best-looking and most detailed characters in a DOA game to date, with true-to-life movement, expressive emotions, and realistic reactions to the environment. Beads of sweat will trickle down fatigued faces, breathing becomes heavy as a fight wears on, and environmental grime will stick to the sensual and burly bodies of the entire DOA cast.
