Fresh off the PAX East game show, Bethesda has released a new The Evil Within gameplay trailer that’ll either reinforce why you can’t wait for The Evil Within release date in August or make you scramble to pre-order the game immediately. The Evil Within gameplay trailer gives a glimpse of footage from what could very well be the best survival-horror game of the past decade. I know I can’t wait for it, personally.
Developed by Shinji Mikami, The Evil Within takes the concept of “survival horror” back to its roots. Highly crafted environments, horrifying anxiety and an intricate story combine to create an immersive world that will bring you to the height of tension.
That sounds like simple marketing hype, but we’ve seen the game in action and can vouch for that statement. The Evil Within is just plain awesome. With limited resources at your disposal, you’ll fight for survival and experience profound fear in an outstanding blend of horror and action.
While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead. Facing unimaginable terror, and fighting for survival, Sebastian embarks on a frightening journey to unravel what’s behind this evil force.
