In El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, the story (based on the Dead Sea Scrolls) makes the game an amazing experience and undeniably count as Art. People will continue to debate whether games are art, but El Shaddai will be Exhibit A in the case that videogames are an art form. The game’s only minor shortcomings are difficult platforming at times due to the art style and camera angle, but other than that it’s an experience that shouldn’t be missed.
