2K Sports is known for excellent graphics and immersion with its sports games, the MLB 2K series included. The latest outing, Major League Baseball 2K9, is hitting stores for Xbox 360 with more than just multimedia panache, though; it has a metric ton of gameplay enhancements too.

Up to bat first are active rosters, which update Xbox 360 gamers’ consoles with the latest roster changes to make sure the lineup is as current as possible. On deck is a new Franchise Mode with a new level of CPU customization, an MLB.com presentation style and real player ambitions. Third is something 2K Sports calls “Inside Edge 2009,” a new technology that produces accurate player tendencies. And batting clean-up in the gameplay department are a host of next-gen controls, from right-stick pitching and batting to responsive fielding.
