Monsters that evolve. Penguins with blade-like flippers. Little Christmas trees that launch Icicles. Graceful reindeer that launch Ice Bullets. Haypi Monster is a monster-ously entertaining online game for iOS users who can’t get enough of games in the Pokemon genre. And now the latest patch, Version 1.22, has made the gameplay smoother than ever before. This, along with the new contents from the still-fresh Version 1.2 update has allowed players to venture even further into the monster world.
The latest update opens the world to two new challenging scenes, Frozen Cavern and Chaotic Swamp. Frozen Cavern features 14 new monsters of an entirely new element type – ice. Ice monsters can conjure up powerful blizzards to destroy monsters of other elements. What’s more, they can freeze their opponents with their chilly attacks. They are extremely strong against plant-type monsters and are vulnerable to fire-type ones.
Chaotic Swamp, on the other hand, is the only scene in the game that does not have its own element theme (Jungle had plant-type monsters, Miracle Sea had water-type monsters, etc). Chaotic Swamp has monsters of all types. Players have encountered the monsters of Chaotic Swamp throughout as bosses and mini-bosses of previous challenges. This gives Chaotic Swamp a sense of familiarity for players as they journey through the most challenging scene of all. Only the strongest can beat the scene, and the monsters of Chaotic Swamp are a testimonial as to how far players have come.
Version 1.22 has also added a new feature to Haypi Monster’s weather system. When players enter a challenge, they can encounter scorching weather, rain, sandstorm, or blizzard. Scorching weather increases the strength of plant and fire attacks while weakening water and ice attacks. Rain increases the strength of water and electric attacks while weakening fire and plant attacks. Sandstorm and Blizzard injure monsters of select types each round. Each weather type is unpredictable, and players must familiarize themselves with the weather system in order to use it to their advantage. In Version 1.22, players can tap on the weather icon during challenges in order to view the benefits and hindrances of that weather type.
The latest update also makes some of the most powerful monsters in the game available to player collections. The epic Vertedeath and the legendary Splashy are available to players who have excelled in the PVP Arena and meet the minimum honor requirements. Other legendary and epic monsters are available for players who have reaped enormous amounts of prestige from the Ladder Tournament by defeating hundreds of other fellow players during their climb.
Version 1.22 has also made improvements on monster skills, tasks, challenges, and the general display of the game. This patch comes only a week after the release of Version 1.2, a major update which added several new features to the game. Long-term fans of the game will be pleased with the speedy improvements and the new, better-accommodating gaming experience.
