New ‘Heist and Run’ Game Borrows a Page from EA’s Need for Speed Series

April 16, 2013 by Sara Leave a Comment

A new “casual racing” app for iOS called Heist and Run borrows a page from EA’s Need for Speed series, at least where the high-speed police chases are concerned. With five cars, nine power-ups, fast-approaching traffic and ever-more-powerful cops chasing, the iPad and iPhone game should provide some racing fun when you need a little handheld distraction.

The game features three lanes on every road, with steering accomplished by tapping on the left or right side of the screen to switch lanes. Or you can just use the in-built accelerometer to control the car — which seems a lot more in line with modern racing games. Heist and Run features cartooned-styled graphics and supercharged cars.

Features:
* Cartoon ‘stylized’ graphics
* Many different pre-apocalyptic cars
* Buy awesome cars from the garage
* Collect coins and use them to buy upgrades
* Dynamic traffic
* Get coins for performing stunning tricks
* Procedural roads
* Road coins procedurally generated
* Casual endless tracks with time-distance difficulty
* Universal build (iPhone/iPad/iPod)
* Supercharged cars
* Powerful casual racing
* Attractive gameplay
* Free to play, no ads whatsoever

On the roadmap:
* More languages
* Many kind of obstacles
* More roads tracks
* More cars
* Missions and more…

Device Requirements:
* iOS 5.0 or later
* iPhone 4/4S/5, iPod touch (4th/5th generation), and iPad2, iPad3, iPad4
* 45.6 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Heist and Run for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad 1.0 is free and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Games category.
