Lumos, a Harry Potter-Themed Game, Magically Appears on App Store

April 9, 2013 by Sara Leave a Comment

A new Harry Potter-themed “wand and crystal ball” app called Lumos has suddenly appeared on the iTunes App Store, just waiting for mobile gamers to check it out for themselves. Designed for Harry Potter fans, Lumos is the first-ever voice-activated wand and crystal ball app. It contains 10 fun and creative voice-activated spells, such as users being able to say “Lumos” to turn on the phone’s flashlight and “Nox” to turn it off. Other spells include Stupefy, Point Me, and Accio Owl. In addition, users can ask the crystal ball questions and receive Harry Potter inspired answers such as, “You have a better chance of catching the golden snitch.”

Mike Tanski, Co-Founder of Doctored Apps and lead developer of Lumos, says the company will continue to update and improve the app. “The Doctored Apps team is already working on a number of updates. Our view is that an app is never finished. While other developers search for a way to make a quick buck, we keep striving to make our existing apps better and better.”

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPod touch (5G only), and iPad
* (Lumos spell does not work on iPad)
* Optimized for iPhone 5
* Requires iOS 5.0 or later
* 18.3 MB

Pricing and Availability:
Lumos! 1.2 is $0.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Entertainment category. Doctored Apps plans to release an Android version of Lumos in the near future.
