Manchester, United Kingdom – Fiendsoft today is proud to announce the release of Cipherz for iOS, a new approach to the successful Cryptogram genre of word games. Users choose from a selection of categories and are presented with six related items which have been randomly ciphered. The user is then expected to determine the original text.
This is a variant of the Cryptogram word games which typically present a single quotation. This new approach offers more variety than previous games whilst introducing a learning curve as categories can be mastered. In addition, by focussing on items from a selected category specialised knowledge can be applied, increasing the level of control and removing the need for random guesswork. Finally, the category ensures relevant and enjoyable games are generated.
Upon completion of a puzzle the deciphered list is presented with options to quickly look up each term on Wikipedia, adding an enjoyable educational element to the game. Cipherz is a universal app and runs on all iOS devices. It is optimised for retina display on both iPhone and iPad but also runs well on first generation iOS devices. The list of categories will be augmented over time by free software updates.
