Dover, Delaware – MegaCubic Entertainment, a mobile game development company, today is pleased to announce an update of its award-winning game title, Foodie the Bug, an iOS flying game that tells the story of a bug with insatiable appetite for tasty foods. The latest version of the game comes with in-app purchase options for equipment upgrades, two newly-introduced characters, and five additional in-game items to raise the excitement level of its players. The company also announced that the game is now available for free download on the App Store.
In the recent update of Foodie the Bug, users are able to play as the two new game characters, Fatty and Mannie. Each of them is given special abilities such as detecting the food ingredients in advance or flying more swiftly to avoid being hit by the enemies. Moreover, players can use real world money to buy in-game currency, the jelly beans, to get upgrades and items like lollipops, bombs, energy drinks, etc.
Since its release in early December of 2011, Foodie the Bug has earned high praise from a wide range of audiences and media. Its originality in game design and the developer’s dedication has won the game a title of the Best Family-friendly App & Software in Mom’s Choice Awards 2012.
So far, the game includes five main stages: Egypt, Italy, Mexico, Japan, and China. Each stage has its unique game background and enemies pertaining to that specific country. Players need to tilt or tap on their iOS devices to keep the main character in the air while collecting food ingredients and jelly beans to unlock recipes and achievements.
“Our players have reflected that Foodie the Bug is a bit of a challenge, and therefore, we’ve decided to decrease the level of difficulty by adding in-apps,” said Kenny Su, CEO of MegaCubic Entertainment. “We also made the game downloadable for free so that more people can enjoy this wonderful food journey on their iPhone. Each update we release takes us one step closer to perfection.”
