Boston, Massachusetts – App Diner today introduces Jetpack Jungle Jones 1.0 free for iOS, its horizontal scrolling platformer, where players control Jones, an Indiana Jones-style character, as he jumps, shoots, and flies through the dense foliage of the jungle. The game features detailed graphics, realistic sounds, undulating, multilevel platforms, five different power-ups, Game Center integration, upgrades, and single player gaming or multi-player competition via automatic Nextpeer matching and Facebook invitations.

An especially challenging platformer, Jetpack Jungle Jones tests users’ hand/eye coordination, reflexes, and split-second decision-making. Unlike other games of this genre, it has only one thumb control, which fires his weapon, and players can tap once to shoot once, but must tap repeatedly to achieve rapid fire. Touching any part of the screen activates his jetpack (flames are visible), and touching and holding keeps the jetpack’s thrusters firing. Without any power-ups, Jungle Jones can only fly for two or three seconds at a time, and returning to earth recharges the jetpack for another burst. The fuel can power-up, allowing extended flying times, appears in the game as a floating object, which Jones grabs to activate.
The limited time of each flight adds to the game’s difficulty, as players must correctly judge if they have enough fuel to reach a high platform or cross a wide river. Jones runs automatically except when he fires his weapon. In addition to points and bullets, players can collect gold coins and jewels, which can be redeemed for power-ups, including:
* Magnet – gold coins will stick to Jones
* Bumper – Jones will be able to jump higher
* Jetpack Fuel – Jones will be able to fly for a while
* Magic Hat – run through obstacles with no harm
* Laser Gun – get rid of enemies with a powerful laser gun
