Baltimore, Maryland – Let the Games Begin! Social/mobile game developer, PlayScreen, is launching a Word Carnivale Contest between rivals Loyola University Maryland and John Hopkins University. Players will compete for individual prizes and bragging rights for the winning school. The contest runs from 3/25-4/25, concluding the day after these two schools meet in Men’s Lacrosse.
In Word Carnivale, players are pitted against their friends in a “best of three” contest to form words within the allotted time. Unlike a conventional word-finding game, Word Carnivale replaces boring static blocks with balloons that pop when words are formed, allowing new balloons to float up. Word Carnivale hit the top of the charts for iPhone Educational and Word Games, soon after its launch in December 2012.
“For this contest we’ve setup a Facebook page where people can pick the school they want to play for, download the free game, and get real time updates on the team and individual scores,” says William Volk, Chief Creative Officer, PlayScreen. “Anyone can play, opening the door for fans and alumni to partake and support the school of their choice!”
At the conclusion of the contest, top scoring players will be awarded gift cards to Amazon, while one random winner will be selected for the grand prize: $200 to Amazon! That winner will be picked from the winning school. The schools will go head-to-head as players top scores contribute to the school’s overall score. So, the more players a team has, the better that school’s chances of winning and obtaining bragging rights!
