Seoul, Republic Of Korea – CkZero today is pleased to announce RiverBoy_HD 2.02 for iOS, an update to their 3D Action/Arcade game that features 66 different characters, 22 weapons, and 101 levels of play. Employing the latest AI and game/graphics engines, players control Zero, an 18 year old boy who fights to save his planet. The game uses 4-way tilt control to let players move Zero as he stands astride his rocket cycle, and main and auxiliary weapons buttons are on the lower right. Extremely challenging, players must employ the appropriate weapon to defeat each monster robot. The game is an explosion of imaginative characters, worlds, and weapons in a 3D, anime-style, game-playing universe.
A whirling mashup of Avatar, Star Wars, and Akira, the world of RiverBoy contains fantastical sentient forests, a princess, and the threat of planetary annihilation. Zero is an emigre from Earth living on Square Planet with three aliens. BaalZuda, the enemy, creates a horde of monster robots with a wide variety of fighting abilities and powers. Zero must defeat the robot army to save the planet.
The arcade game includes three kinds of power-ups, all purchased with gold coins earned during gameplay or attained via an in-app purchase. Players can increase Zero’s skills in three areas: Attack, Speed, and Defense. There are more than 60 different monster robots resembling flying insects, floating eyeballs, and squat fighters equipped with overhead rotors for flight. Four different types of weapons can be used to defeat the robots, but not all weapons are effective against all robots.
The first kind of weapon has four types, which are all 4Side weapons. The second kind of weapon has six types, which are Gass weapons, enveloping the enemy in dark, deadly gas. Ice is the third kind of weapon with six types, encasing the enemy in a block of ice. And Missile, with six types, is the fourth kind of weapon, flying in a blaze of pyrotechnics into the enemy robot.

After the first four stages, gameplay becomes quite challenging, and players may have to replay lower levels many times before earning sufficient power-ups and weapons to move on to higher stages. During gameplay the remaining life in Zero is displayed in a horizontal thermometer, as is the remaining life of his adversaries. Successfully completing a level requires Zero to outlive the monster robots, while earning gold coins by killing them.
There are dozens of dazzling, animated effects as Zero fights using his main weapon, a pair of light sabers, and any of the 22 other weapons available. Depending on the frequency at which the player taps the main weapons button, Zero will execute simple or complex slashing, twirling, and thrusting moves. The exaggerated motion blur make his moves graceful and deadly. Enemies can occupy any one of limitless layers, so it is possible to kill a dozen robots, each behind the other, with a single stroke.
“RiverBoy is a huge, complex arcade game with many, many characters and special effects,” commented Sun Young Kim of CkZero. “Try to rescue the cute and sexy princess Tina.”
