Motionshift Studios has launched LETTERARIUM for the iPhone and iPad, and app/game of letters chosen at random from a library of more than 1,500 common (and sometimes not-so-common) words. Your task is to find the letters for the word from a pile of letter keys dropped into the LETTERARIUM before the time runs out.
Rounds start off easy as players are given three-letter words to spell out of piles of tiles. Letters can be tapped in any order too, as long as the whole word is spelled out by the end. But the game steadily ramps up the challenge in clever ways. Words get bigger and longer. Letters in the pile will be upside-down and touching the wrong one will subtract points.
Soon, bombs get added to the pile and explode as the clock starts ticking down. All this happens while already tense players are then forced to spell the word from memory. By stacking all of these new challenges, along with some tasteful Batman jokes, the game keeps a fresh and varied gameplay.
