If you are like me, you grew up going to local music shows of high school bands, feeling cool, maybe doing a little slam dancing in the mosh pit. Long gone are those days but the one thing I remember is every band always rockin’ Marshall speakers.
Skip forward 20 years. Rarely do I get to go to concerts these days, and all my music is stored on my phone. What hasn’t changed is Marshall’s leading position in the industry. So to gain customers like us they introduced two new in-ear headphones.
Launched at IFA in Germany last week, the Mode and Mode EQ are Marshall’s two new buds. The Mode is sporting a stylized “M” in white brass on top of black buds, while the Mode EQ has a gold brass “M.” Additional features include a built-in microphone to take calls, in-line remote for music/call controls, a rather stout looking 3.5 mm “L-Plug.”
Differentiating the two models the Mode EQ includes an equalizer switch on the in-line remote giving you two different settings.
As for that robust 3.5mm jack and their new cord material, I have high hopes that these can withstand the daily abuse I put ear buds through. In fact, sometimes I feel bad about all the buds I toss into the trash because the wire gets a short or the jack busts loose from the rest of the cable. Here’s hoping Marshall has solved for wired cables weak point.
