Xbox One Launch Titles Confirmed: 23 on Release Date

August 21, 2013 by Sara Leave a Comment

Xbox One launch titlesWe now know the full list of confirmed Xbox One launch titles, as Microsoft hit Gamescom hard with a fistful of news. Microsoft and its third-party publishing partners have lined up an impressive list of Xbox One launch titles, with almost two dozen games slated to be available on the Xbox One release date. That wording comes straight from Microsoft; there’s no “launch window” mentioned this time, as there was with Sony’s PlayStation 4 launch titles news yesterday.

Having 23 Xbox One launch titles queued for day-and-date availability with the Xbox One release date is impressive. It’s also nice to see Microsoft getting away from the “launch window” verbiage that the company introduced with the original Xbox and carried through to Xbox 360. By specifying that these Xbox One launch titles will actually be available in stores or for download when the console itself ships, Microsoft has done gamers a huge favor.

The full list of Xbox One launch titles is similar to Sony’s with the PS4, at least where third-party games are concerned. The list of disc-based games is particularly similar where other publishers are concerned, although there are some third-party Xbox One exclusives in the digital download / Xbox Live Arcade arena.

Here is the full list of Xbox One launch games, in alphabetical order, as Microsoft confirmed at Gamescom. We’ve also included the developer and publisher information below, since we know there are plenty of people who want to know who’s creating what.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag (Ubisoft, Ubisoft), Battlefield 4 (DICE, Electronic Arts), Call of Duty: Ghosts (Infinity Ward, Activision), Crimson Dragon (Grounding/Land Ho!, Microsoft Studios), Dead Rising 3 (Capcom Vancouver, Microsoft), FIFA 14 (EA Sports, Electronic Arts), Fighter Within (AMA Ltd., Ubisoft), Forza Motorsport 5 (Turn 10 Studios, Microsoft Studios), Just Dance 2014 (Ubisoft Paris, Ubisoft), Killer Instinct (Double Helix, Microsoft Studios), LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (TT Games, Warner Bros. Interactive), Lococycle (Twisted Pixel, Microsoft Studios), Madden NFL 25 (EA Sports, Electronic Arts), NBA 2K14 (Visual Concepts, 2K Sports), NBA LIVE 14 (EA Sports, Electronic Arts), Need for Speed: Rivals (Ghost Games, Electronic Arts), Peggle 2 (Popcap, Electronic Arts), Powerstar Golf (Zoe Mode, Microsoft Studios), Ryse: Son of Rome (Crytek, Microsoft Studios), Skylanders: Swap Force (Vicarious Visions, Activision), Watch Dogs (Ubisoft Montreal, Ubisoft), Zoo Tycoon (Frontier Developments Ltd., Microsoft Studios), Zumba Fitness: World Party (Zoe Mode, Majesco).

If you’d like to pre-order any of the Xbox One launch titles above, we recommend you pre-order Xbox One games from Amazon to get them day and date with the console on the actual Xbox One release date.
