Hulu Plus Nintendo 3DS Functionality Now Available

October 17, 2013 by Sara Leave a Comment

Nintendo has decided to follow Microsoft’s and Sony’s move toward entertainment, although it’s come in a manner we didn’t really see coming. The game maker today announced that Hulu Plus Nintendo 3DS functionality is alive and kicking on its handheld game systems. Starting today, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL and Nintendo 2DS owners can instantly stream current-season TV shows, hit movies, clips and premium commercial-free kids programming on their handheld systems with the new Hulu Plus application for Nintendo 3DS.

With this new Hulu Plus Nintendo 3DS app, existing Hulu Plus subscribers have instant access to their Hulu Plus accounts on their handheld systems, while new subscribers can enjoy a one-week free trial.

Users who have a wireless broadband Internet connection can visit the Nintendo eShop to download Hulu Plus. The application will allow users to navigate using the touch screen and view thousands of television shows and movies on the go*. It also brings some of the best TV shows for children – including a larger selection of Jim Henson Family titles than any other video subscription service – to the platform through the Hulu Kids hub.

The Hulu Plus Nintendo DS app joins other entertainment apps on the handheld, including video services like Nintendo Video and social-sharing applications like StreetPass, Mii Plaza and Swapnote. The 3DS also features an extensive selection of downloadable software in the Nintendo eShop, including games, videos and applications.

All of these games and features, including Hulu Plus, can be viewed in 2D on the new Nintendo 2DS system. Nintendo 2DS is designed specifically for anyone looking for an entry point into the exciting world of Nintendo hand-held games. Even on the 3DS, though, you shouldn’t expect to suddenly be mesmerized by watching Breaking Bad in 3D, as it was never produced in a way to optimize it for that format.
