Michael Jackson The Experience Coming to PlayStation Vita, 3DS

June 9, 2011 by Sara Leave a Comment

Ubisoft logoMichael Jackson The Experience, which has previously released on the Xbox Kinect and Wii, is headed to the PlayStation Vita and 3DS handheld platforms this holiday, Ubisoft announced at E3 2011. The game, which we reviewed, lets players feel the magic of the King of Pop by reliving his most iconic performances through their own singing and dancing.

Michael Jackson The Experience for PS Vita and 3DS is being created from the ground up for each platform to take advantage of each one’s technical capabilities. Using the tactile screen on each handheld, players will draw a series of shapes according to the beat and the choreography of the on-screen Michael Jackson avatar. By chaining together moves, players will progressively unlock spectacular special effects and other animated background elements, all while being able to watch the avatar perform. During timed freestyle moments, players can even create their own choreography from a set of classic Michael Jackson moves.

By moving in line with the choreography, players can increase their score while bringing to life the environments of 15 Michael Jackson classics from his solo career. As players continue to improve, they will unlock bonus content along the way such as Michael Jackson’s special outfits or “power-up” gloves.

The 15 settings inspired by Michael Jackson’s music videos and stage performances include the ghoul-infested graveyard dance from “Thriller,” the luxurious Palace of the Pharaoh from “Remember the Time,” and the seedy underworld nightclub from “Smooth Criminal.”

Michael Jackson The Experience for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS will include three difficulty levels.
