MYST Announced for Nintendo DS

January 16, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

The point-and-click PC adventure game MYST is coming to the Nintendo DS, a logical yet still surprising development for the classic PC game. MYST for Nintendo DS will ship in March in North America. No European release date was discussed.

MYST for DS will include enhanced worlds and environments that have been enhanced for the DS, as well as an original soundtrack, re-mastered video and an all-new age — the Rime Age — that was never included in the original MYST. As you’d expect, the game will use the stylus as the key method of interaction, and the dual screen will also provide additional information to the player.

The new interface for MYST uses the upper screen to provide information and allow players to view magnified images, while the bottom screen is used to access mini-tools and navigate the worlds of MYST. Players will also have a new batch of mini-tools, including a magnifying glass, camera, notebook and map.

Players will also be able to closely inspect and interact with clues and items, take snapshots for future use, keep notes in a diary and pinpoint key locations within the game.
