The Nintendo DS is getting its first 3D head-to-head ninja game next month, as Naruto: Ninja Destiny will ship in North America.
Based on VIZ Media’s animated TV series Naruto, Naruto: Ninja Destiny will pit characters from the TV series against one another as players use both DS screens for the ninja-flavored gameplay featuring the special techniques of the Naturo world.
Aspiring ninjas will be able to both unleash powerful jutsu and use items in their brawls against 16 different characters. The battles will unfold on the top screen of the Nintendo DS, while power ups can be strategically unleashed on the touch screen. The game will include a combo-move system as well.
The single-player portion of the game will feature scenes, characters and storylines from all shows up to the 140th episode. Naruto: Ninja Destiny will also include a versus mode and wireless multiplayer combat.
