Sega has shipped a new game for the DS today, as Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer heads for retailers in North America. Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer is a turn-based RPG starring a hero named Shiren (he’s “the Wanderer,” for those taking notes at home) and his trusty weasel companion, Koppa. On a quest for the legendary Lair of the Golden Condor, thought to grant one wish to the person who finds it, players venture through treacherous lands and discover the mystery surrounding this mythical realm.
The path through deep caverns, vast forests and dangerous mountain passes is filled with ferocious monsters, hidden traps and thieves that Shiren and Koppa must battle through and survive in order to reach their goal and claim their prize.
The game features randomly generated dungeons, advanced tactics and puzzles, and a new feature gives players the ability to call for online help via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection when they find themselves in peril. If another player is in the area, they have the option to assist the player in trouble. If they prove to be successful, they will be awarded with a special item.
