Nintendo Ships Two Pokemon Games for DS

April 23, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

Two new Pokemon games have shipped for the Nintendo DS today: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness.

For more than a decade, Pokemon fans have caught, trained and battled Pokemon, but these two new DS games let players for the first time experience what life is like from a Pokemon’s point of view.

The new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games transport players to a secluded land inhabited only by Pokemon. After taking a personality test that determines which Pokemon best represents their own personalities, players will explore the land as an actual Pokemon. During the course of their journey, players are charged with discovering why they’ve been turned into a Pokemon and thwarting a Pokemon who’s bent on stopping time and plunging the world into darkness.

Players in need of assistance can call for help using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection with an SOS Mail, or rescue friends in trouble the same way. The game also lets players receive friend rescue-notification e-mails on their PC or cell phone.

Both DS games feature randomly generated dungeons and more than 490 Pokemon combined. This means players are sure to find their favorite Pokemon when forming their teams, and that they’ll have plenty of random adventures.
