Always one to create new ways to sell its DS, Nintendo today announced a limited-edition Guitar Hero: World Tour DS system and bundle. In addition to the game, the Guitar Hero: World Tour DS Bundle will include a special version of the DS hardware with a Guitar Hero logo printed on the cover.
The new Silver/Black Nintendo DS with Guitar Hero logo will only be available in this limited-time bundle. It goes on sale on June 22.
Why all the hubbub? Because Guitar Hero: World Tour marks the first time the hit franchise will be playable on a handheld.
GH: World Tour will use the Guitar Hero Guitar Grip peripheral to be playable on the DS, while also supporting the system’s touch sensitivity.
Like the console versions, the DS version of Guitar Hero: World Tour features a variety of music, including tracks from blink-182, No Doubt, Jet, Nirvana and Bloc Party. Players can rock out in Career Mode, team up in Co-Op Mode or go head-to-head in using Battle Items unique to the DS.
