Ignition Entertainment announced today it will publish what could very well be one of the longest-named Nintendo DS games ever to release: Teenage Zombies: Invasion of the Alien Brain Thingys!
Teenage Zombies uses a style that focuses on — and parodies — the Zombie genre, as well as 1950s-style science fiction. This is presented in a comic book look featuring comic-book panels, dialogue boxes and storytelling. The gameplay involves side-scrolling adventures and stylus-controlled mini-games, double-screen boss battles and puzzle challenges.
Here’s the game story’s premise: Earth is under attack by a horde of aliens, and humans, having succumbed to ray-guns, mind-control and flying saucers, have let the planet fall into the clutches of the Big Brain and his army of Brain Thingys. Humanity’s only hope comes in the form of three Teenage Zombies who have arisen from a graveyard disturbed in the invasion. The undead trio ignores their normal human victims in favor of the pulsing pink alien brains, and they’re of course lured by the ultimate lunch: the Big Brain himself.
Ignition will bring the DS-exclusive game to both North America and Europe in spring 2008.
