What does monkey poo look like in high definition? We’ll all find out soon enough, as Brash Entertainment today unveiled Space Chimps for Xbox 360, Wii, DS and PS2. The game will release alongside the Twentieth Century Fox film of the same name on July 18.
Like the movie, the Space Chimps game will follow the adventures of a mischievous circus chimp named Ham who happens to be the grandson of the first primate sent into space. As a publicity stunt, Ham is chosen to lead a mission into space to explore a mysterious new planet. But when he and his crew crash-land on a bizarre yet beautiful world, they will soon find their lives in peril.
Amorette Jones, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Starz Media (the company producing the film), said “[Brash Entertainment ahs] taken the world we’ve created and brought it to life in a game that will be fun and light-hearted — in keeping with the spirit of the movie.”
Because no additional details about the game — genre, multiplayer options, Xbox Live Achievements — were not revealed, we’ll have to take Jones’ word for it.
Space Chimps will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS this summer.
