Call of Duty Ghosts Double XP Weekend Starts Friday

November 7, 2013 by Sara Leave a Comment

Activision is surely celebrating its $1-billion Day One sales milestone with Call of Duty: Ghosts, but the publisher has decided to “celebrate” the launch of Call of Duty: Ghosts with the actual players as well. No, the company isn’t kicking-off some wacky profit-sharing program. It’s going to hold a Launch Call of Duty Ghosts Double XP Weekend starting tomorrow — the first day of the game’s first weekend in gamers’ homes.

Starting Friday, Nov. 8 at 10am PST and running through Monday, Nov. 11 at 10am PST, Call of Duty: Ghosts players on every platform will earn twice the amount of XP on all of their Multiplayer actions. The 2XP Launch Weekend will be available on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U and PC.

To participate in the Call of Duty Ghosts Double XP Weekend, all you have to do is buy the game and play it online. You don’t need to sign up for anything, enroll in an Amway program or commit to buying the next-gen version. Just play Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer on launch weekend. Which, let’s face it, you were going to do anyway.

Speaking of the next-gen versions, players thinking about upgrading to the next-gen platforms will be able to transfer all of their multiplayer XP, stats and Achievements earned on any current-gen Call of Duty: Ghosts game to the next-gen version. The only caveat is that you upgrade within the console family.

For instance, if you bought the game on Xbox 360 and are buying a PS4 next week, your stats won’t carry over (and the $10 upgrade package won’t be possible, either). In that case, the XP carry-over would only be possible if you were to go from Xbox 360 to Xbox One.
