Call of Duty Ghosts Nemesis PlayStation Release Date: Sept. 4

August 22, 2014 by Sara Leave a Comment

Sometimes things don’t need a press release to be considered news. For instance, when Infinity Ward confirms via Twitter that the Call of Duty Ghosts Nemesis PlayStation release date is Sept. 4. PS4 and PS3 owners now have less than two weeks to wait before getting their hands on the final COD: Ghosts DLC pack.

The Call of Duty: Ghosts Nemesis add-on pack made its debut on Xbox One and Xbox 360 on Aug. 5. The Nemesis PlayStation release date being Sept. 4 follows the tried-and-true model of Xbox platforms getting a four- to six-week timed exclusive on Call of Duty DLC.

Ghosts Nemesis is the last of four DLC packs included in the Call of Duty Ghosts Season Pass. This final entry includes four new multiplayer maps, each with a unique Field Order, and the last chapter in the Extinction story.

The first new multiplayer map, Goldrush, is set in the Southwest United States amid an abandoned gold mine where tunnels and shafts create support medium- and long-range combat. The new Subzero map takes place on an evacuated and frigid submarine base where “a mysterious terror” can take-out opponents even if your bullets don’t.

The Dynasty map has multiple pathways that crisscross a lakeside Chinese village, and the four map, Showtime, is “a sadistic reimagining” of the small “Shipment” map from COD 4: Modern Warfare.

The Call of Duty Ghosts Nemesis DLC also includes Extinction Episode 4: Exodus. This concluding chapter follows the CIF Unit’s escape from the alien underworld and the successful recovery of Dr. Cross and the cortex. The team is now tasked with fighting off the Cryptid army while getting key personnel to safety by restoring the shuttle’s power and launching it to a low-Earth-orbit space station.

Exodus lets players choose their path, gather new intel, craft new weapons and fight their way to the end however they wish. Just keep your eyes peeled for a new batch of Cryptid enemies, the Ancestors, whose lethal powers include mind control and psionic attacks.

PlayStation owners can purchase Nemesis as a stand-alone download for $14.99. As mentioned above, it’s also included as the final part of the Call of Duty: Ghosts Season Pass.
