Dead Space shipped today for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the first survival-horror game from EA and a new franchise for the game-industry heavyweight. The PC version of Dead Space will ship on Oct. 20.

Set 500 years in the future, Dead Space follows the story of Isaac Clarke, an engineer sent to restore communications aboard a space mining ship. Once on board, Isaac discovers that the crew has unearthed an ancient alien/religious artifact and created a living nightmare onboard the Ishimura, whose crew has been mutilated and infected by an ancient alien disease.
Dead Space is a great game, as you’ll read in our review, and it injects a sense of true horror into the survival-horror genre. Check it out.
