Dropkick Murphys Coming to Guitar Hero 3 via Song Packs

March 6, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

Guitar Hero 3 is getting two downloadable song packs this month, one of which includes the oh-so-appropriate Dropkick Murphys (just in time for St. Patrick’s Day).

Available today is the Modern Metal pack, which lets gamers play master recordings of Deftones’ “Hole in the Earth,” Avenged Sevenfold’s “Almost Easy” and Thrice’s “The Arsonist.” The track pack is now on Xbox Live Marketplace, and it will be available later today on PlayStation Store.

In mid-March, though, the fun really kicks off, as Activision will release a free track pack just for St. Patrick’s Day. In this track pack will be a host of songs from the Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys. Straight from the band’s sixth album, The Meanest of Times, the Dropkick Murphys pack will include master recordings of “Famous for Nothing,” “(F)lannigan’s Ball” and “Johnny, I Hardly Knew Ya.”
