EA Unveils Sci-Fi Horror Shooter: Dead Space

September 24, 2007 by Sara Leave a Comment

Electronic Arts this morning officially announced a new sci-fi horror shooter being developed by the company’s Redwood Shores studio. Called Dead Space, the game is a third-person sci-fi survival horror experience that looked in the most recent issue of Game Informer to be heavy on the gore.
Set in the cold blackness of deep space, Dead Space has an atmosphere soaked with tension, dread and sheer terror. Players step into the role of engineer Isaac Clarke, an ordinary man on a seemingly routine mission to fix the communications systems on a deep space mining ship. It is not long before Isaac learns that the ship’s crew has been ravaged by a vicious alien infestation — and that he must fight through the dead silence and darkness of deep space to stay alive.
Dead Space is expected to ship in late 2008 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
