April 18, 2008 by Sara Leave a Comment

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will get a chance to play Enemy Territory: Quake Wars after all, as id Software and Activision today confirmed that the team-based strategic shooter will ship for both next-gen consoles in May.

PS3 and Xbox 360 gamers in North America will get the game on n May 27, while European and Australian gamers will be able to pick it up three days later, on May 30.

Nerve Software, the developer of Return to Castle Wolfenstein Multiplayer for PC and DOOM 3: Resurrection of Evil for PC and Xbox, created the Xbox 360 version of Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. The PlayStation 3 development duties were headed up by Underground.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars pits the armies of Earth’s Global Defense Force (GDF) against the invading alien menace called the Strogg. Set in the Quake universe in the year 2065, this team- and mission-based multiplayer game has distinct classes, vehicles and weapons, letting players decide how they want to play the game.

As a strategic team-based game, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars requires players to work together as a team to defeat the enemy and achieve objectives — which they can do online against other players or offline against AI bots.
