Ubisoft has shed light on the pricing and downloadable add-on content for the Far Cry 4 Season Pass, including information about a new player-versus-player (PvP) multiplayer mode.
The Far Cry 4 Season Pass will include several new missions that can be played either individually or in co-op mode. That also means the content will be eligible for the Keys to Kyrat mode on PS4, which allows owners of the game to “share” the game for an hour with a friend to play through missions, even if that person doesn’t own Far Cry 4 him or herself.
Included in the Far Cry 4 Season Pass is a mission that’s exclusive to Season Pass holders and will be available at launch. More interesting may be the new PvP mode, which sounds like it has the potential to function like the Call of Duty Zombies mode.
The Season Pass-exclusive mission is called The Syringe, which tasks players with keeping a rare recipe from falling into the hands of Pagan Min’s forces. As with most missions in the game, The Syringe will be playable either in single-player mode or in co-op.
Another new mission, Escape from Durgesh Prison, will see characters Ajay and Hurk tortured in Yuma’s prison. It’s up to players either individually or with a co-op friend to escape and survive.
The Hurk Deluxe Pack, also part of the Far Cry 4 Season Pass, will include five missions and new weapons including Hurk’s harpoon gun, called The Impaler.
One of the new Far Cry 4 PvP multiplayer modes, Overrun, has players teaming up as Rakshasa or Golden Path to control a series of neutral locations across Kyrat’s countryside. Yet it’s the last new mode, Valley of the Yetis, that sounds coolest.
In this mode, Ajay’s helicopter has crashed on in the frozen landscape, leaving him to scavenge for tools alone or with a co-op friend to upgrade his camp and protect it. The first order of business is to watch out for a dangerous cult, but more dangerous is the yetis, which come out of their mountain caves looking for a tasty morsel.
